Our classic, the Brasilia-Athena, is our high-quality version of the traditional retractable awning.

At its core, it's a square bar structure, with supports that hold a fabric roll and spring-loaded folding arms.

Simple, it is custom made just for you in Canada from high quality materials. All our awnings are made from high-quality cast and extruded aluminum with a powder-coated finish and feature acrylic fabrics available in 18 beautiful modern colors. This product is available with a Textured Black structure and is also available in Soft White and Beige

WARRANTY

Warranty for Brasilia™ retractable awnings and accessories, as well as MultiShades™

A. Who provides this warranty?

Auvents Multiples Inc.

B. Who is entitled to this warranty?

This warranty applies to the customer purchasing the product. This warranty cannot be transferred or assigned to another owner. This warranty only applies to products purchased and installed in Canada.

C. What are Auvents Multiples' responsibilities under this warranty?

Subject to the terms and conditions of this warranty, Auvents Multiples will replace parts deemed defective and caused by a design, manufacturing or assembly problem, according to the component warranty explained below.

D. What are the buyer's responsibilities under this warranty?

To make a claim under this warranty, the original owner must have paid in full for the product covered by the warranty. If the purchase has not been paid in full, this warranty is null and void and Auvents Multiples will not be held responsible for any liability under this contract. The buyer acknowledges that this contract constitutes a legally binding agreement between the parties.

The buyer must have followed the installation, maintenance, operation, use and storage recommendations provided in the installation manual. Failure to comply with the stated conditions will render the warranty null and void and release Costco from all responsibilities described under this warranty.

Notify Auvents Multiples as soon as possible that a claim will be made.

Costco may ask the buyer to provide a photo of the defective part and may also request a deposit while the defective parts are returned to Costco for inspection. The buyer must obtain a return authorization form from Auvents Multiples Customer Service before sending the merchandise. Upon receipt of this form, the customer sends the parts or product to be returned "freight paid".

E. What is covered by the warranty?

With the exception of the remote control and wind sensor, which are limited to a one-year warranty, the other components attached to the Brasilia ™ collection retractable awnings are covered by a 5-year warranty and subject to the specifications mentioned below:

STRUCTURAL SUPPORTS: which includes side arms, rear casing, front bar and any other attaching supports, are guaranteed for 5 years following purchase provided that the components are not subject to excessive winds or water accumulation on the fabric.

THE ROLLER is guaranteed for 5 years against any damage including cracking or bending that could affect the proper functioning of the awning provided that the components are not subject to excessive winds or water accumulation on the fabric.

THE ACRYLIC CANVAS is guaranteed for 10 years against:

Excessive discoloration under normal conditions of use, operation and storage as indicated in the installation manual and provided that the awning is not subject to excessive winds or water accumulation on the fabric.

THE GEAR MECHANISM (MANUAL model only) is guaranteed for 5 years following purchase provided that normal conditions of use, operation and storage have been followed.

THE ELECTRIC MOTOR (MOTORIZED model only) is guaranteed for 5 years following purchase provided that normal conditions of use, operation and storage have been followed. However, the remote control and wind sensor are limited to a one-year warranty.

AWNING ACCESSORIES With the exception of the remote control and wind sensor, which are limited to a one-year warranty, other accessories attached to the awning are guaranteed for 5 years following purchase provided that normal conditions of use, operation and storage have been followed.

F. What is not covered by the warranty?

  • The retractable awning products from the BRASILIA ™ collection are not designed to be used as car shelters. Any damage caused by an awning used as a car shelter will not be covered by the product warranty.
  • Installation brackets are not designed for a house roof, and even if specialized brackets exist for this type of installation, any damage caused to the roof or house by water infiltration will not be covered by the product warranty.
  • Any damage or product failure caused by negligence or intentionally by the buyer or any other person will not be covered by the warranty.
  • It is the buyer's responsibility to properly install the awning to beams, joists or any other structural part to stabilize the awning to the wall. Any damage or product failure caused by the product falling is not covered by the warranty.
  • The buyer must have followed the installation, maintenance, operation, use and storage recommendations provided in the installation manual. Failure to comply with the stated conditions will render the warranty null and void and release Costco from all responsibilities described under this warranty.
  • The costs of installing and dismantling replacement parts are not covered by the warranty.
  • The round-trip transportation costs for replacement parts are not covered by the warranty and must be paid by the buyer.
  • Expansion of material or damage to the structure caused by wind or water accumulation are not covered by the warranty.
  • Any modification to the electric motor or wiring voids the warranty on the motor and its components (wall plug, remote control, cables, etc.).

G. GENERAL CLAUSES AND LIMITATIONS

  1. The warranty is an exclusive asset for the buyer. Auvents Multiples offers no other warranties to the buyer, express, statutory, implied or otherwise, and all implied warranties, including without limitation, implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, are hereby disclaimed.
  2. To the extent permitted by law, Auvents Multiples is not responsible to the buyer or any other person for special, consequential, indirect or similar damages of any kind or nature whatsoever, resulting from the warranty or other breach of contract, negligence, tortious act, or otherwise, even if Costco products have been advised of the possibility or probability of potential loss or damage. Under no circumstances will Auvents Multiples be held responsible for loss of salary and/or profits.
  3. Some provinces and states do not accept limitations on the duration of a warranty, or do not accept exclusions or limitations on consequential or special damages, so these limitations may not apply.
  4. This warranty gives you certain rights, and you may have others that vary from province to province and state to state.

    90-day limited warranty for slightly damaged retractable awnings, sunshades and their accessories

      1. Who provides this warranty?

      This warranty applies to the customer purchasing the product. This warranty cannot be transferred or assigned to another owner. This warranty only applies to products purchased and installed in Canada.

    2. When does this warranty begin?
       
      This warranty applies for 90 days from the product's shipping date. The shipping date is when the customer receives their awning.

    3. What are Costco's responsibilities under this warranty?
       
      Subject to the terms and conditions of this warranty, Costco will replace parts they deem defective due to a design, manufacturing or assembly problem, according to the component warranty explained below.

    4. What are the buyer's responsibilities?
      1. To make a claim under this warranty, the original owner must have paid in full for the product covered by the warranty.
      2. When the buyer takes on the installation themselves, they must follow the installation recommendations. Maintenance, operation, use and storage as explained in the installation manual must be rigorously followed. Failure to comply with the stated conditions will render the warranty null and void and release Costco from all responsibilities described under this warranty.
      3. Notify Auvents Multiples as soon as possible that a claim will be made.
      4. Auvents Multiples may ask the buyer to provide one or more photos of the defective part. A deposit may be requested from the buyer while the defective parts are returned to Costco for inspection. The buyer must obtain a return authorization form from Costco Customer Service before sending the merchandise. Upon receipt of this form, the customer sends the parts or product to be returned.
    5. What is covered by the warranty?
       
      The components of the side-arm awning or sunshade (all parts attached to the awning) are covered by the 90-day limited warranty against manufacturing defects outlined below:

      Components covered by the warranty:

      • STRUCTURAL SUPPORTS: which include side arms, square bar, casing, front bar and any other attaching supports, are guaranteed for 90 days following purchase provided that the components are not subject to excessive winds or water accumulation on the fabric.
      • THE ROLLER is guaranteed for 90 days against any damage including cracking or bending that could affect the proper functioning of the awning provided that the components are not subject to excessive winds or water accumulation on the fabric.
      • THE FABRIC (and sunshade fabric) is guaranteed for 90 days against:
        1. Excessive discoloration under normal conditions of use, operation and storage as indicated in the installation manual.
        2. Mildew on vinyl fabric and sunshade fabric. Mildew will not form directly on the fabric but on dirt that has not been removed. Please read the section on cleaning the fabric.
        3. Cracking or excessive peeling under normal conditions of use, operation and storage as indicated in the installation guide and provided that the awning is not subject to excessive winds or water accumulation on the fabric.
      • THE GEAR MECHANISM (manual models) is guaranteed for 90 days following purchase provided that normal conditions of use, operation and storage have been followed.
      • THE ELECTRIC MOTOR (Motorized or Solar Energy models) is guaranteed for 90 days following purchase provided that normal conditions of use, operation and storage have been followed.
      • AWNING OR SUNSHADE ACCESSORIES (any attached accessory) are guaranteed for 90 days following purchase provided that normal conditions of use, operation and storage have been followed.
    6. What is not covered by the warranty?
      1. Retractable awnings are not designed to be used as car shelters or on recreational vehicles. Any damage caused by a retractable awning used as a car shelter or installed on a recreational vehicle will not be covered by the product warranty.
      2. Any damage or product failure caused by negligence or intentionally by the buyer or any other person will not be covered by the warranty.
      3. When the product is installed by a third party remunerated by the buyer, it is the buyer's responsibility to properly install the awning or sunshade fabrics to beams, joists or any other structural part. Any damage or product failure caused by the product falling or becoming twisted or deformed due to inadequate installation is not covered by the warranty.
      4. The costs of installing/dismantling replacement parts are not covered by the warranty.
      5. The round-trip transportation costs for replacement parts are not covered by the warranty and must be paid by the buyer.
      6. Expansion of the fabric or damage to the structure caused by wind or water accumulation are not covered by the warranty.
      7. Any modification to the electric motor or wiring voids the warranty on the motor and its components (wall plug, remote control, cables, etc.).
    7. GENERAL CLAUSES AND LIMITATIONS
      1. THE WARRANTY IS AN EXCLUSIVE ASSET FOR THE BUYER. COSTCO OFFERS NO OTHER WARRANTIES TO THE BUYER, EXPRESS, STATUTORY, IMPLIED OR OTHERWISE, AND ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE HEREBY DISCLAIMED.
      2. TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, COSTCO IS NOT RESPONSIBLE TO THE BUYER OR ANY OTHER PERSON FOR SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, INDIRECT OR SIMILAR DAMAGES OF ANY KIND OR NATURE WHATSOEVER, RESULTING FROM THE WARRANTY OR OTHER BREACH OF CONTRACT, NEGLIGENCE, TORTIOUS ACT, OR OTHERWISE, EVEN IF COSTCO HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OR PROBABILITY OF POTENTIAL LOSS OR DAMAGE. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL COSTCO BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR LOSS OF SALARY AND/OR PROFITS.
      3. SOME PROVINCES DO NOT ACCEPT LIMITATIONS ON THE DURATION OF A WARRANTY, OR DO NOT ACCEPT EXCLUSIONS OR LIMITATIONS ON CONSEQUENTIAL OR SPECIAL DAMAGES, SO THESE LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY.
      4. THIS WARRANTY GIVES YOU CERTAIN RIGHTS, AND YOU MAY HAVE OTHERS THAT VARY FROM PROVINCE TO PROVINCE.
